About MCPDP

Welcome to MCPDP

MCPDP was established by the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria (N&MCN)

The Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria (N&MCN) (Established by Decree No 89 of 1979) is the regulatory Body of the Nursing Profession in Nigeria concerned with Nursing Education, Registration and Practice.

The Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria (N&MCN) established the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme and inaugurated committees in all the states of the Federation to update all Practicing Nurses on current trends in nursing education and practice for effective client care.

According to Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, the place of nursing in the health care system is getting more and more complex. Nursing roles are expanding in leeps and bounds and we are taking on more responsibilities that require critical thinking skills. The nurse is expected to maintain professional competence in an environment of numerous challenges, rapid organizational changes, information technology, increasing public expectations and demand for quality and greater accountability. They are expected to be adaptive, flexible, innovative, resourceful, responsible and self reliant. These expectations are only achievable through continuing professional development programmes which encourage nurses to apply learning directly to their field of practice.

Vision

To provide a cost effective  evidence based Nursing care devoid of doing the patient any harm for clients/patients from Ondo State and neighbouring states.

Mission

To constantly update the knowledge of Nurses/ Midwives in the state and beyond through continuing education as regards the paradigm shift from orthodox Nursing care to evidence based care.

Nurses' Prayer

As I care for my patients today, be with me oh Lord, make my words kind because it means so much. In my hands, place your healing touch. Let your love shine through all that I will do today, so those in need may hear and feel your presence. Amen
